View All Support ResourcesWhat smartphones are compatible with the TD2 Geek? Does it work with iOS/iPhones?
The TD2 Geek is designed exclusively for Android devices and does not support Apple iPhones. Your smartphone must run Android 12 or above and have the OTG (On-The-Go) function enabled in the settings.
How does the TD2 Geek work?
It uses an array of 64 MEMS microphones to capture sound from multiple directions simultaneously. It calculates the direction and intensity of each sound source and creates a colorful "sound map" overlaid on a real-time camera image, allowing you to visually locate sounds—including ultrasonic frequencies beyond human hearing.
What kind of sounds or faults can the TD2 Geek detect?
The device is highly versatile and can detect:
- Industrial: Compressed air leaks, mechanical friction/abnormal noise, and high-frequency humming from electrical equipment.
- Everyday & Geek: Noises behind walls, nature sounds (bird/insect tracking), and even music visualization.
What is the detection distance and frequency range?
The effective detection range is 0.3m to 100m. It covers a frequency range of 2kHz to 50kHz, which is optimized for both industrial leak/fault detection and everyday consumer applications. The frequency span can be manually adjusted in the app.
How long does the battery last? Will it drain my phone's battery?
The TD2 Geek features its own built-in battery that provides approximately 4 hours of continuous operating time. Because it has an independent power source, it will not drain your phone's battery during use.
What kind of acoustic imaging modes are available?
The FOTRIC Genie app provides three professional visualization modes:
- Single-source: Highlights only the strongest sound pressure level area on the screen.
- Multi-source: Displays multiple strong sound sources simultaneously.
- Hologram: Displays the overall sound pressure distribution, giving you a complete picture of the surrounding acoustic environment.
